A couple of things have been happening lately that don't exactly thrill me. I'm not going to name any names or single anyone out, and if there is discourse on this, I don't want anyone else to single someone out, either. I just want this stuff to stop happening.
1. I've said this before. I am not the only player in chat. I don't want to see people ignoring the actions of other players that approach them. This has been starting to crop up again and I am about ready to hand out Warns over it. It makes the person you ignore feel lower than whaleshit and it stresses me out as well.
2. Let the GM be the GM. I don't want to see people posting actions for things they don't have permission to post for, and I also don't want to see people throwing in a sudden plot arc that has not been previously cleared. Even if such an arc has been cleared, that doesn't mean you get to go hog-wild with it and cause chaos.
3. Don't just sit in chat and do nothing. I understand that sometimes it can be hard to get in on a scene, or that one's character may have little to do in certain circumstances. What I am talking about is someone sitting there and being a 'bump on a log'. If you don't feel up to playing but want to sit in chat, please clear it first. There are people (me included) tha feel a little weird when someone just sits and does nothing. Makes me feel like I suck or something.
4. If we go to combat protocol in chat, please respect that. I know it slows stuff down. I know one gets eager to get their actions out there. But not using combat protocols at all means actions get missed and people get pissed. Same story with ignoring the protocols when they go into play.
5. I have been busting ass lately to make sure the logs go up and necessary info is out there for players to use. USE it. I don't want to have someone bombarding me with 45736255734 questions when the information is right there on the boards. It is your responsibility as players to check there first. The more time I have to spend spoonfeeding people, the less time I have to keep the chats going. Please take the time to at least look over the boards to be sure there's nothing new.
6. I am out of patience with mod sass. There will be no more of it. I appoint the people I appoint for a reason, and I am shelling $25 a month out to keep the chat room open. My mods and I do a lot of work, much of it thankless and behind the scenes. We don't have an issue with someone just disagreeing with a call or whatever, but that will be done in a polite, non-snarky and respecful manner or it's a Warn.
